Our company, Frankie Thompson Enterprises, Inc. started from a small-scale venture by our owner in 1982. Now a viable business, it has weathered the many challenges present in the construction industry for the past 30 years.
1982: Starting Frankie Thompson Enterprises
Frankie Thompson started Frankie Thompson Enterprises (FTE) by representing manufacturers of water and sewer products. He was encouraged to form his own company by Tom Stallworth, President of Engineering Process and Equipment. Frankie's business would then become a minority owned Distributor of American Cast Iron Pipe Company products.
Through his relationship with both ACIPCO and Engineering Process and Equipment, FTE continued to grow the materials distribution business by building relationships with a variety of companies. This then constructed and maintained the Sewer and Water Systems in the Atlanta and Savannah area.
1985: FTE Expands into Representing Manufacturers of Building Materials
Mr. Thompson would expand his business into supplying companies that build and maintained government buildings and faculties. He did this by forming relationships with Erickson & Associates, a mechanical contractor, and the Trane Corporation, an industrial manufacturer of industrial HVAC. He would firm up these relationships over the next several years through a series of construction projects in the Savannah area such as building the Savannah Trade Center and Savannah Civic Center.
